Welcome to Love Your Voice Studios! As a part of this studio, you will have many opportunities to gain experience and grow as a musician and artist. Discovering your individual musical voice and expressing who you are is an exciting journey because you are the only person who can share your unique experiences with the world. There is only one YOU and therefore there is only one person that has your musical voice. I am looking forward to collaborating with you and helping you reach your musical goals!
The following policies have been created to ensure a quality experience for all those participating in Love Your Voice Studios. If you have further questions after reading the policies below, please don’t hesitate to contact us at loveyourvoicestudios@gmail.com or through our contact page.
For a complete list of our studio policies please consult our Love Your Voice Studio’s Policies & Procedures document here.
Illness Cancellation Policy
If you are ill, please do NOT attend your scheduled lesson time in person as a courtesy to your teacher and those around you. Spreading illness throughout the studio is to be avoided if possible. If you are under-the-weather but still able to play or sing, please contact the studio by email, and a virtual lesson will be provided during your scheduled lesson time. If you are unable to play or sing during your scheduled lesson time, the studio will do its best to provide a virtual make-up lesson within the next month. In person make-up lessons may or may not be available.
Punctuality Policy
Please be considerate of others’ time and arrive at your scheduled lesson time at least five minutes early. Lessons will begin and end strictly according to the student’s scheduled lesson time, meaning that if the student arrives late, the lesson will still end at the same time as planned. Please leave promptly after the lesson is complete to avoid interrupting another student’s lesson.
Practice and Instrument Expectations
For students enrolled in voice lessons, it is expected that you will practice 5 days per week. You must have access to a keyboard, speaker, and accompaniment tracks for your repertoire. For students enrolled in piano lessons, it is expected that you will practice 5 days per week. You must have access to a tuned piano in decent condition, or a weighted keyboard with eighty-eight keys.
All students, whether enrolled in in-person or virtual voice lessons,
piano lessons, or music theory tutoring must have access to Microsoft Teams and a device that can record.
Return Check Policy
All returned checks will have an additional charge of $10 and there will be no further lessons until the check has cleared and the fee is paid. If you are struggling financially, please communicate this with the studio, as decisions will be made at the teacher’s discretion.
Weather Cancelation Policy
Please note that all scheduled lessons will be cancelled due to weather conditions in accordance with the Belleville Public School district. No make-up sessions will be offered, and no refunds or credits will be issued.
Teacher Absence Policy
If situations outside the studio’s control arise, such as illness, where the teacher will not be able to hold a lesson during the student’s scheduled lesson time, every effort will be made to make up the lesson virtually. If the lesson is unable to be made up, no refunds or credits will be available.
Lesson Books and Resources
After the first lesson, the student/parent will be sent an email with the resources, materials, and lesson books that are required. The student/parent is expected to purchase all items listed. The student/parent is responsible for bringing the required lesson books and materials to each lesson.
Teacher Termination Policy
The studio reserves the right to discontinue lessons with the student/parent due to extreme absences with lack of communication, misbehavior, rudeness, damage to the studio, emotionally hurtful interactions with other students, or any behavior of the like. The teacher will meet with the student/parent to discuss the situation before making any final decisions.
Make-Up Lesson Policy
If a student is ill or has another reasonable excuse to miss a lesson, the studio will do its best to offer another virtual time to make up the lesson. If there are other circumstances in which the student may miss a lesson, (i.e. vacation, school, family, or religious commitment) please give at least two weeks’ notice. The studio will do its best to provide a virtual make-up lesson within the next month. In person make-up lessons may or may not be available. If the lesson is unable to be rescheduled, no refunds or credits will be available.
Student Termination Policy
If a student chooses to stop taking lessons, the studio recommends that the student finishes the remaining lessons within the monthly payment period. No refunds will be offered for lessons during that payment period.
Media Agreement
Photos and videos may be posted on the studio website or social media. This gives the student a sense of achievement and pride for what they have accomplished, as well as helps promote the studio. If you are uncomfortable having photos or videos taken and put on the studio website or social media pages at any time, please contact the studio with a written statement. Please note that the teacher will always ask for consent before videoing or taking pictures.
Late Fee Policy
Payments are due on the first lesson of each month. If payment is not made within 3 days of the lesson, there will be an additional charge of $5 per day.
